What materials and tools do you use to create your products?

We use a wide variety of power tools and materials to accomplish a flawless finish.

What is the process to create a product?

Each project requires a lot of love, tools, materials, and time to be completed.

First, we start by preparing our custom mockup design. When this mockup is approved by you, we start making its backer.

We cut your backer. Depending on the backer, we will edge band it or make a frame for it. We sand it and prepare it for painting, staining or sealing. We make sure this backer is smooth and perfectly painted/stained and sealed before we go into the next step.

For letters and design, we print our template and glue it to our wood by using contact paper. We then proceed to cut our letters and pieces by using a scroll saw. This power tool help us cut by hand, designs that range from simple to intricate.

When the letters and design are cut, we proceed to throughly sand every detail of the letters and design. We know they are ready when we feel they are smooth to the touch. We then clean every piece to prepare it for painting. For this we use filler primer. This primer needs to dry for 24 hours. After this, we sand and clean all of our pieces again. All of this, done by hand. 

We spray paint every piece and seal it with a top coat. After they dry in 24 hours, we then glue them up on top of the backer.

It takes us approximately 7-10 minutes per piece to cut, shape, sand, primer, paint, and glue every piece. Each design has around 50-100 pieces. 

Every sign is designed, cut, sanded, primed, stained, painted, and glued by me.

Think about all the love involved in the creative process.

How long does it take to complete my order?

As every sign is completely handmade, current turn around time is 4-8 weeks. If you need a sign before that, please contact us before ordering.

How do I order?

1. If needed, access our BACKERSIZEFONT, and COLOR guide. 

Note what you like down on a paper. 

2. Access the SHOP NOW Tab.

3. Find a design of your liking and fill out every option as they appear. You will have to choose a backer style, backer color, fonts, fonts color, among others, depending on the sign you choose.

4. Choose any add on option, if desired and available.

5. Pay your sign.

6. We will send you a mockup of your design, so you can give us a final approval before we begin the project.

7. Wait for the magic to happen.

How to order a custom sign or logo?

I’m excited you want something new. I personally love new challenges. 😉

1. Access the CUSTOM ORDER page to see our custom product variations and process.

2. Access our CUSTOM DESIGN LISTING and read all the information regarding our custom order process.

3. Fill the blanks of the listing and pay its fee. This fee will serve to design your mockup, which is a digital preview of the project. 

4. Fill in questionnaire sent to your email after purchase. 

5. You will receive a mockup and quote for the project.

6. After we agree on a mockup and the project balance has been paid in full, the confection process will begin.

7. Wait for the magic to happen.

8. Receive the sign.

9. Be happy!

10. Repeat.

How do I mount my sign?

When you receive your order, you will also receive the instructions on how to mount your hardware and sign.

Note: Although we provide the hardware, your sign would not have your hardware attached to it.

Why do I need to sign a release of liability?

The release of responsibility is to protect both the client and the company.

We can’t be held legally responsible if the sign is mounted incorrectly and that results in the injury of someone.

We take safety very serious here.

Shipping Policy

Where do you ship to?

We currently ship to the United States and Puerto Rico.

How long will my order take to ship?

The current turn around time is 4-8 weeks. Time may vary depending on the product. You will be notified by us of your estimated completed date.

You can expect your order in hand 5-7 business days after it being shipped. 

We are not responsible for any postal delays.

Returns Policy

Do you accept returns?

Due to the handmade nature of our products, we do not accept returns.

For that reason, we also do not refund money once a product is bought. 

If a product arrives damaged, please contact us within three days of product arrival at thewishingtimber@gmail.com. We will take responsibility if the product arrives damaged. For us to take responsibility, it is required our client provides proof of the damaged box and the damaged product within three days of product arrival.
